Maths

Y1

Subtraction crossing 10

Teaching video Year 1 | White Rose Maths

Watch White Rose Home Learning Y1 Spring Week 4: Subtraction Crossing 10 (1)

Complete the activities dated 25.1.21; the counting back to 10 first method does seem tricky at first, but with practice it becomes a quick and easier way to subtract!

Y2

Make equal groups – sharing

Teaching video Year 2 | White Rose Maths

Watch White Rose Home Learning Y2 Spring Week 3 : Make equal groups – sharing (recap)

* May I politely request that children look after the counters carefully so that they can be returned to school after the current lockdown? Thank you.

Please complete work dated 25.1.21

English

Y1

Focus: ea-sound

Please complete ea sound worksheets dated 25.1.21; see if you can spot any more ‘ea’ sound words in your independent reading!

Y2

Focus: -add –ed to verbs ending in e when forming the past tense

Discuss what you notice about verbs ending in e when you put them into the past tense: you should notice that we drop the last e before we add – ed.

Please write your words in sentences – for an extra challenge, see if you can add commas in a list to your sentences eg:

The moors were dark, stormy and windy when we hiked over them.

ICT

To program a robot

Remind children about algorithms and last week’s learning using BeeBots. Explain that this week we’re going to practise programming a robot

Please follow the hyperlink to access BBCBitesize How do you program a robot?

How do you program a robot? – BBC Bitesize

Read and discuss the introduction with your child then play the game Robot Routes; you could even play it together! I would suggest starting at Medium level. Have fun!
