English

Y1

Y2

Focus: verbs ending in –y when adding –ing

Please write your spellings in sentences in your Home Learning book. Can you see what happens when you add -ing to a verb ending in y ? You need to drop the y before adding -ing!

ICT

To program a BeeBot

Hyperlink: https:beebot.terrapinlogo.com

Remind children of our learning about algorithms from last week: what is an algorithm? Explain today’s learning: we’re going to practise programming a device.

Log onto beebot terrapin logo.com ( see hyperlink above); discuss the keys used to make the BeeBot move. Children are to select their background then program the BeeBot to move across the board, reminding them that by programming a device we can predict what it is going to do next.
