Y1

Tens and ones

Teaching video Year 1 | White Rose Maths

Watch White Rose Home Learning Y1 Spring Week 5: Tens and ones

Parents and carers might have been taught to say ‘units’ rather than ‘ones’; both are acceptable.

Not all children have a worksheet this week so please could parents/carers challenge their children to make numbers up to 50 using the equipment provided.

Again, may I politely request that children look after the tens and ones apparatus carefully and keep the pieces in the bag provided? It can be returned after lockdown with the counters. Thank you.

Y2

Divide by 10

Please start today’s lesson by reciting the 10 x table up to 12 x 10 = 120

Teaching video Year 2 | White Rose Maths

Watch White Rose Home Learning Y2 Spring Week 4: Divide by 10

Please complete worksheet dated 4.2.21.

English

Y1

Remind children what a noun is: a person, a place or a thing. Label as many nouns as you can spot on the picture of the castle dated 4.2.21.

Challenge: write 10 sentences including these nouns in your Home Learning book.

Y2

Remind children what an adverb is: it is a word that describes a verb and it often (not always!) ends in –ly.

Complete worksheet dated 4.2.21.

History

Talk about what we have found out about castles so far; explain that today we’re going to learn about knights. What do we know about knights? Do children know any stories about knights? Remind them of our Sir Charlie Stinky Socks story!
